We missed you at our virtual happy hour last Thursday! Here is the link to the recording if you’d like to hear what we said. After watching, feel free to share it with friends and colleagues who might be interested in learning more about Tor.
We put together some additional information we’d like you to have The Tor Project Deck 2020.pdf (2.0 MB) . Included in this deck are some of the user stories that Cindy Cohn mentioned during the happy hour that are so powerful to use when you are introducing Tor to people who are unfamiliar with our work. For instance this quote:
I’m a doctor in a very political town. When I have to do research on diseases and treatment or look into aspects of my patients’ histories, I am well aware that my search histories might be correlated to patient visits and leak information about their health, families, and personal lives. I use Tor to do much of my research when I think there is a risk of correlating it to patient visits. - Anonymous
Because of stories like this, we wrote the blog post that Isabela mentioned in the recording with tips on how to be safe online while working from home .
As Cindy mentioned, our work is essential to the privacy ecosystem and we rely on donations from individuals like you. Please consider becoming a Champion of Privacy today. Building up this membership club is an important piece of our goal to diversify our funds and make sure Tor is strong and agile. Please reach out to me if you have any questions about the different types of donations we accept.
Thanks again and we look forward to talking with you soon.
