Python Class material

Hey @Jared, where’s the material for python class? https://github.com/noisebridge/PythonClass ? hasn’t been updated lately, but that doesn’t mean anything.

Are you interested in creating a class on testing? Preferably with pytest but unittest is fine to get the idea. And working in coverage. I can help create the class for sure. Trynna train some people to help out with infrastructure even if they don’t know it

I can help out with teaching python testing. I like using py.test with unittest.

Here is the the github repo that I forked a while ago. https://github.com/jgarst/PythonClass

I have run a class on pytest and testing once before, and it went pretty well. Here is the notebook I used for the class. I’m happy to run it Monday if it would be useful. Alternatively, I’m going to be out of town for about three weeks, starting after next week’s class. If you wanted to teach a class on testing, it would be a good time to do it.

I have not done a great job of keeping the resources up to date. Some classes, like the class on strings, are not pretty but pretty much representative of the class. Here is the notebook, it is secretly an introduction to methods, slicing, and using collections. Other classes like the one on Flask, still unfortunately mostly live in my head.

Let me know if it would be worthwhile to teach that testing class on Monday. I’ll be around tonight (Thursday) and Sunday.
