Get a VOIP Phone number for Noisebridge?

Possibly file under “maybe hackers just don’t use phones”, but –

It came up while I was helping edit the CA State Capital Budget Request document just now that we should perhaps have a phone number that someone can use to reach An Official Noisebridge Contact.

I’m willing to be on point in that way, but I’ve also undertaken a policy of never answering my phone anymore, because all I get is spam and I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between Sir Legitimate Statesfellow and Angie Who Was Just Following Up On Her Email About That $100k You Requested.

Does anyone think it might be a good idea to get a VOIP number for Noisebridge that could potentially be answered by a small handful of people (group forwarding)?

For example, we could use Twilio. Or this service:

What do y’all think?

Yes! This is a great idea.

I have used in the past. The name sounds super scammy but they are inexpensive and contributors to Ekiga and Twinkle. Not sure what 415 availability is, I think it changes frequently
